Offline versus online dating

Offline dating can take many faces and is the most common form of dating. Whether you meet the person in a bar, at work or through some pure coincidence this is the way through which most people meet. Dating can be arranged or casual. Maybe a friend of yours has a friend who also has a friend and while they were talking they thought it would be nice to couple the two of you. This would definitely be an arranged date. But dates can occur by pure coincidence as well. Maybe you bump into someone on the street by mistake. You help her or him out and then you ask for the phone number. The next thing you know you've got yourself a date.

Online dating is a bit different. The first thing you do is create an account on a specialized site. You can choose free services or paid ones. The advantage of the free ones is of course the fact that you don't need to spend anything. Paid online dating services take the next step. What you have is access to a limited private selected community of people who actually paid to get to know you. This means extra commitment at least.
Once you've got your account created you will need to enter your personal information. It's important to be honest and enter only real information. This is not only a sign of respect to the people you are talking to but you will also avoid and unwanted scene. If you lie you will never be able to actually meet face to face with the people you've been lying to. Think about your entire purpose and enter accurate info. You don't want to share too much either.  You don't want to wake up with stalkers after you. More than probably you won't enjoy talking to everyone and among all the people out there, there are some who can take rejection not quite well. You need to avoid contact with such individuals and you certainly don't want them to have your personal information.

The problem with online dating, however, is that it will never replace an actual, real date. On the other hand you have access to a much wider pool of choices. They key to successful dating is to manage to balance offline and online dating. Take what's bets from both and put it together. And there is no absolute value. The best thing for you is what suits you best. What's bets for you might not be the best for others and vice-versa. Just  think it though before plunging in. Think of what you want and need and plan accordingly.

Go out there, create an online dating account and start search
